CJ Hosts SEACJF Chief Justices, Delegation Heads to A Dinner, Emphasizes ADR And Unity

The Chief Justice, Hon. Justice Alfonse Chigamoy Owiny - Dollo, on Thursday evening hosted Chief Justices and heads of delegations from the Southern and Eastern Africa Chief Justices' Forum (SEACJF) to a dinner at his official residence in Nakasero, Kampala.

Justice Owiny - Dollo told his guests that Uganda is "home away from home" noting that the dinner was a chance to strengthen their bond as a family.

He emphasized the need for unity within the Forum and encouraged SEACJF to take a leading role in promoting Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), urging members to "speak with one voice.

Justice Bheki Maphalala, Chief Justice of Eswatini and Chairperson of SEACJF, thanked members for their attendance and commended the local organizing committee for their excellent work. He noted that Uganda’s hospitality truly reflected the warmth of Africa.

The Chief Justices and heads of delegations also expressed their gratitude for the warm welcome and the hospitality they received.

The dinner concluded with Justice Owiny - Dollo presenting tokens of appreciation to the visiting Chief Justices, marking a memorable end to the evening.

Notably present were the Deputy Chief Justice, Justice Richard Buteera, the Principal Judge, Dr. Flavian Zeija and Permanent Secretary/Secretary to the Judiciary, Dr. Pius Bigirimana.

Several Judges were in attendance as well. 

The Master of Ceremonies for the evening was HW James Ereemye Jumire Mawanda, the Judiciary Public Relations Officer.
